Traditional Rehabilitation vs. Reclamation:
The faster, less expensive, and longer-lasting solution to road repairs.
Most common road problems are not due to quality of the Asphalt, but rather, the quality of the base underneath.
Holes in the asphalt can be filled in, sealed, or covered with overlay, but this rehabilitation method does not address the root cause of the problem. Eventually, the road needs to be repaired in-depth, requiring the asphalt and material below to be removed from the site and for new material to be hauled in. This process can be very costly.
There is another way.
Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) is the process of pulverizing an asphalt surface into a reusable material that is blended and incorporated into the the insufficient base, adding volume and structure.
The mixture is reshaped and recompacted, providing a more stable base
Finally, a new layer of asphalt is applied, resulting in a more durable, longer-lasting, and smoother road for a small fraction of the cost of rehabilitation.
